About the event
The avant-garde dance form known as butoh is a unique somatic movement practice that emphasizes the body/self that becomes. This act of becoming can also be experienced as an act of decentering, which is a radical paradigm shift in how we can experience ourselves in an interconnected web of life.
Join Lani and fellow curious movers to experience the transformative power of butoh in this new 3-part online series. Guided movement practices will be geared toward cultivating a supple, responsive body and an expansive, egoless state of mind. While most of the class will be experiential, Lani will begin with a short talk and conclude each class with some time for sharing and Q & A. People of all levels of experience are welcome to attend, and no prior training in any movement form is required. Simply come with an open, curious mind and ready to move!
