Lani’s approach to yoga is an eclectic blend of the many styles and techniques she has studied and practiced for over 25 years.  Her interest is to offer a contemplative yet light-hearted experience for her students, with the ultimate goal of empowering each individual to be open, brave, accepting and compassionate.

Lani received her 200 and 500-hour teaching certification from the Integral Yoga Institute at the Satchidananda Ashram in Buckingham, VA.   Swami Satchidananda was one of the first Indian yogis to introduce the practice of yoga to the west in the 1960s, long before it was popular.  Today, there are Integral Yoga institutes throughout the world, and his teachings have formed the basis for Dr. Dean Ornish’s internationally acclaimed Lifestyle Medicine Program.  The in-depth studies of asana (physical practices), pranayama (breathing practices), raja yoga (yoga philosophy), karma yoga (selfless service), diet and meditation at the Integral Yoga Institute instilled a desire in Lani to help others transform their lives through this simple yet powerful practice.

Lani has been fortunate to study with many other master teachers and yoga schools, including Viniyoga, Iyengar, Ashtanga, Anusara, Kundalini, and Land to Water Yoga, all of which find their way into her classes in various ways.    Her yoga classes can take on many forms depending on the needs of the students or the focus of the session.
